Praziquantel, marketed as Biltricide, is an anthelmintic used for the treatment of tapeworms and flukes. For example, it is effective against Schistosoma (blood flukes), the liver fluke Clonorchis sinensis and the fish tapeworm Diphyllobothrium latum. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most important medications needed in a basic health system.
